We live in a world where what we agree too is not exactly what the other party is asking us to agree too. The FINE PRINT. The little detail that comes and bites us in the ass. You know the one "Cancel at any time " the little asterisk leads to and addendum in small fine print " except for any day ending in Y" Sure that is an extreme example, but you get the point.
Congress is no different The bills that pass through to be signed in to law are loaded with hidden gotchas. Usually hidden in the thousands of pages utter and complete bullshit that makes up a bill. Keep in mind the famous utterance of Nasty Pelosi "We won't know what is in it until it passes"

Enter in to this conversation the Biden-McConnell “infrastructure” legislation, which passed in August 2021. Yes that long ago it was a huge thousands of pages spending bill that people are just now starting to grasp.
A provision of that bill has nothing to do with infrastructure but has to do with catching criminals use in kill switches hidden in their cars that can be activated by remote, thus rendering the car inoperable allowing the police or other various law enforcement agency's to capture the suspected criminal.

Well hang on there cowboy before you get to excited by this think for a moment about the people who wrote this and then signed it in to law. The Federal Government. You know the same people that claim that parents going to school board meetings to complain about the education that their kids are receiving are terrorists. The same government that records and stores all your electronic communications with out your consent. The same government that has declared that people who voted for Trump are white supremacist Nazis , homophobe, transphobe, misogynists. Yeah that government.

In the end it is up to you to decide how to feel about the laws that are passed in our various governments. For me however as long as I draw breath i will always be suspicious of anything that comes out of that cesspool that we call Washington DC.
